Thanks for continuing on with your podcasts. For consideration in future episode you might be able to help me install a radio (CB or HF) in my truck by going over the lessons you learned when installing your rig. Just the high points of what to look for sizing power cables and proper grounding to get the most out of the setup.
Keep them coming Brother.
It’s definitely something we can talk about.
Good stuff in the podcasts. Please keep it up, highly informative!
Thanks for the kind words brother. It’s a whole lot of fun to do it and I’m just getting warmed up.
One thing you could do is use the Baofeng on the FRS/GMRS band. That way you can use external antennas on mobile & base stations, use a linear amp, etc, but still be interoperable with the blister-pack radios. Yeah, none of that’s legal, about like CB’s with linear amps aren’t legal. But I hear people do it. :D
I discussed doing that in the podcast. Thanks for listening.

Microphone on both recordings makes your voice super loud on the up tones and very quiet on your down tones.
