TX2Guns: ECQ In Fight Weapon Access
If you carry a handgun for self-defense and do not routinely pressure test IN FIGHT Weapon Access with Force-on-Force drills, you are cutting yourself short in being prepared for a real world encounter on the mean streets.
Most FIGHTS on the street are at EXTREME CLOSE QUARTER (ECQ) distances, ie “Bad Breath Distance”.
IMO next to Kelly Mccann, Craig Douglas aka “Southnarc” has some of the best training around on Combative Handgun.

Terrific insights. Extreme Applegate turret. “Bullseyes Don’t Shoot Back” and “Kill or be Killed” paired with Larkin’s “When Violence is the Answer”. I’ll be watching for videos that provide examples of IFWA theory as explained on the mat but applied on the streets where there are no rules, no tap out.
Outstanding information and presentation!

Makes a lot of sense. Timing is crucial in every kind of combat.
Ecqc, immediate action combatives, Paul sharps establishing a dominance paradigm, Mosbys CCP class all teach infighting weapon access. Have attended ECQC in CDA, and CCP in East ID. Very much worth it. The operative word in gunfight is not gun. I teach locally and point folks towards these SMEs for further development. Life preserving material.
