“How the JRTC OPFOR Fights” 1 Nov 1994
On older video but a very important one. JRTC, located at Fort Polk, LA, focuses on Infantry units having to fight in thick woodland & jungle terrain. It should put into perspective a post from last week on stalking and infiltration – all skills we work on in the Scout Course.

Did four rotations at JRTC in my company level days. Two at Ft. Chaffee, Oklahoma then two more at Ft Polk. I remember 18 hour days on end. Damn near got snipped once at the FLS in Polk. Then a shit show on a night move to the north box with a 3/5 platoon. Oh damn dont get me started. The OPFOR were always cheating or let’s say bending the rules to the breaking point but the OCs let that shit slide. I could respect the OPFOR, the OCs, for the most part I did not care for. And the fire markers, they had loads of fun dropping shit on the OPFOR. Hell I could go on for hours.
