Request for Information (RFI) – Weekly SITREP

I am going to make this a weekly post so that we can use this as a place to make any reports on unusual activity or localized hotspots of trouble. We did this a few times during COVID (here, here, here, and here) but I figured that, as our conditions continue to degrade around the country, it would be useful to bring this back as a regularly recurring topic of discussion.

Post your reports in the comments below.

I have a friend with relatives in Lebanon. Interesting is Lira lets say 1500 lira in bank a few years ago, present day it takes 100,000 Lira to equal that same 1500 Lira! Basically means your 1500 Lira is almost worthless. Add to that one can not get it out of the bank. And THAT is coming to America.

    Civil Unrest / Crime:

After Maine legalized Marijuana a few years ago, Chinese criminal organizations centered in NYC and Boston have taken advantage of the situation and established close to 300 illegal marijuana cultivation sites in the State. A local alternative news outlet, The Maine WIre, conducted an extensive investigation of this as documented over 100 of the locations. The US DHS provided the 300+ count. The technique used is to purchase cheaper rural housing, have commercial grade power service installed on the property, and use indoor hydrophonic grow techniques. The estimated 4 Billion in product is usually marketed in NYC and other large East coast cities. The Maine Wire also reports that they discovered that 69 of the mortgages for these properties were obtained through Quontic Bank in New York State. The FBI and Maine Law enforcement were reportedly uninterested in the information The Maine Wire gathered when it was offered to them. See themainewire.com for details.

The Portland Maine semi-official homeless encampment was disassembled last week and the vagrants were moved with their possessions to another encampment across town. The city approved emergency funds to expand the bed count at the designated city shelter, but most of the homeless refuse to go there

Considerable uproar in the media about the drama in the streets and elsewhere coming from the 2 factions on opposite sides of the Gaza War. Other than lots of intimidation and some minor vandalism, it is contained to just street theatre for the moment.
