What I find amusing is most people did not even know why Easter eggs exist. It used to be as Catholics, and still is in some rites (for any Protestants reading this feel free to chime in if it is still the case for your denomination), that you could not eat any animal byproduct during Lent.
Then, on Easter Sunday, you would eat eggs among other things. Hence Easter eggs.
Given how anti-Christian government is, it is just par for the course
