An important passage on field hygiene and the difference made by Night Vision and Thermal Optics

This is an excerpt from a piece I covered many years back here on American Partisan covering the development of the militant cadre we’re now seeing operating here in the US. That aside, there’s some important lessons that our own Doc Teddy Bear has highlighted.

  1. The pairing of suppressive fire and precision weapons. Both are an absolute requirement on the contemporary battlefield and we just so happen to have a class for both.
  2. Communications is critical, but your must understand the why before the how. The US was using them as a proxy force on the ground, thus the reliance on GPS as a coordinating tool for fire support. But with that said this was a group that had nation state backing at the time. ISIS was not utilizing these tools because those had become the primary targets. I cover this extensively, including the methods of exploitation, in the Guerrilla’s Guide to Signals Intelligence. Had the shoe been on the other foot, and it has been during clashes with Turkey, I strongly doubt the YPG would utilize those tools. Heed the warning.
  3. Having a method to purify water on the move is critically important. To be quite honest, there was no excuse not to when operating from a vehicle.
  4. Having a combat cocktail package of antibiotics and pain management is equally as important. Battlefields are nasty, nasty places and you with it. Medical training beyond battlefield trauma is pretty damn important.
  5. Night Vision and Thermal are absolute must-haves. They’re literally telling you in the article from a first hand account and its nearly a decade removed from that time. While I strongly doubt the $50k price tag they claim in the article, the good news is Enablers are 100% more affordable, more capable and more reliable than ever. The #1 seller to cover most of the bases has been and will likely continue to be the StingIR 384, but I’m partial to the Clarion scope on a rifle and night vision for movement. Not only do I have all the equipment you need but we’ve put together a course to address training for proper implementation of both Night Vision and Thermal – everything from weapons utilization to observation to driving under NODs.

The last point – Do not underestimate just how dedicated and coordinated the Communist International is to Revolution here in America. They see the current political situation as one to take advantage and kick off the revolution. Think 1968 Democrat Convention but with plenty more time to coordinate and train coupled with a populace far more conditioned to be sympathetic to their cause. Countering that requires you to be trained and that has been my mission since day one.

The technology that is available off the shelf to an individual is simply amazing at this point. You can tell that for the serious gun owner, who treats this as a martial discipline, as fighting, who is serious and who isn’t by the fact… are they taking advantage of this.

The enablers are huge for another reason, let’s be honest here. As individual riflemen, we are responsible for our own equipment. That means you aren’t constrained by bureaucracy. You aren’t under a policy. You can quite literally be as effective as you decide you are going to be. Our small numbers are a strength in many respects, and that is one of them.
