N. Carolina Congressman: ‘We cannot trust any stat coming from the Biden-Harris admin’s FBI’

Just three weeks ago, legacy media outlets like NBC were reporting that FBI data showed that murder and other violent crime had dropped noticeably from 2022 to 2023 in the U.S.

Now the FBI has quietly revised its 2022 data and is now admitting that violent crime actually rose by 4.5% during that time period.

Representative Richard Hudson (R-NC), in a tweet on X Thursday, noted that this is not the first time the FBI has fudged data and that now we cannot trust any statistics coming from the Biden-Harris administration.

These numbers are STAGGERING.

The FBI claimed crime was down, but in reality violent crime has SOARED since Kamala Harris took office.

The change in FBI data was reported by RealClearPolitics after it noticed a mysterious reference on the FBI website which read: “The 2022 violent crime rate has been updated for inclusion in CIUS, 2023.”

Since the FBI did not mention the changes in its September 2024 press release and there was no mention of the numbers increasing, RealClearPolitics noted that the only way to see the change was, “by downloading the FBI’s new crime data and comparing it to the file released last year.”

Many media outlets reported the FBI’s claim of a surprising 3% drop in violent crime between 2022-2023 but relatively few outlets are now reporting on the corrected numbers showing a stunning 4.5% increase.

The FBI isn’t the only federal agency to have to revise questionable statistics during the election year.

In August, the Bureau of Labor Statistics had to revise its estimate of the number of jobs created last year by 818,000 few jobs than it had previously reported.

When politicians take credit for lowering the rate of violent crime or creating hundreds of thousands of jobs that didn’t really exist, it’s time to start asking pointed questions.

Are politicized government agencies and mainstream media teaming up to sell the American public a false sense of security, and, if so, who can we still believe?
