We Won and We Need to Act Like It

Guest Post by Kurt Schlichter

Breathe deeply and savor the musky scent of broken leftist dreams. Mmmmmmm. Smells like freedom! Now, we must get busy pummeling our enemies. Some silly people will say that you shouldn’t kick an opponent when he’s down. That’s actually the best time to kick him.

This is no time to go wobbly. We beat the left decisively and completely. Their humiliation is complete. They thought they had us at their feet and at their mercy. They thought they could throw our avatar in jail and thereby disenfranchise and silence us. They thought they were going to be in power forever and rule over us as if we were serfs and they were feudal lords, except feudal lords were actually kind of butch and had swords and stuff and didn’t go around crying because someone used the wrong pronoun to describe them.

That America dodged a bullet is beyond debate. Ironically, Trump literally dodged a bullet in one of the two attempts by his enemies to murder him. America could have gone into a dark place. The thought of what a Kamala Harris administration would’ve meant was terrifying, but that was completely exorcised Tuesday night. We would’ve been reduced to a second-rate power, a petty dictatorship, and an economic basket case teaming with Third World peasants imported to replace us. Wait, the regime media has told us we’re not allowed to point out that the Democrats wanted to replace us. Oh well. No one cares what the regime media says anymore. The regime media was the biggest loser after Kamala Harris herself. It couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch of smug pinko degenerates.

There will be a temptation to return to the old norms, that is, the pre-Trump era where Republicans acted like prissy gentlemen and the Democrats gave them wedgies. At this writing, about half a day after Trump‘s victory became indisputable, neither Kamala nor our alleged president has called Donald Trump to concede or gone out and graciously conceded in public. Now, Biden has excuses – he’s not the candidate, thanks to the Machiavellian machinations of Nancy Pelosi. He is also senile and probably doesn’t even know that Kamala Harris lost. But to the extent he does understand that he got rolled by his party, his constant undermining of his understudy during the campaign sure paid off. Between him and the cruel martyrdom of Peanut the Squirrel and Fred the Raccoon, that cackling mediocrity from Scat Francisco didn’t stand a chance.

As for her, she’s always been a classless hack. Assuming she’s not drunk, which I’m not going to assume, maybe the humiliation of having to call up the man she called a racist, a sexist, and a fascist is just too much to take. And she can take a lot of humiliation – she dated Montel Williams. But maybe she had to hide a black eye – Dougie’s got quite the temper. Regardless, the old norms would’ve required her to call up and politely concede, thereby reaffirming that elections matter, but I guess we’re not doing that because reasons and resist or something. So much for the peaceful transfer of power – we’re going to see a petulant and passive-aggressive transfer of power.

It’s already pretty clear that Kamala and her allies in the regime media are going to refuse to recognize Trump’s smashing victory as legitimate. Her tacky refusal to interface with her opponent is just the beginning. The meltdowns on cable news were, predictably, glorious. It’s hard to choose one favorite rant, but I enjoyed Joy Reid’s amazing work, especially when she described Harris’s campaign as both “perfect” and “flawless.” I knew Reid was dumb, but I didn’t know she was so dumb she didn’t know what the words “perfect” and “flawless” meant.

Actually, in retrospect, all the pieces fit.

The leftists on the decisive platform Twitter – let’s have a big round of applause for Elon Musk and, while we’re at it, the great Scott Pressler, who may have single-handedly won this thing through his work in Pennsylvania – are also melting down. They’re very upset. This is good. But some Republicans, who are eager to return to the Elder Times, will want to console and comfort them and reassure them that it’s all going to be OK. This is so very wrong. We need to ensure that it is not going to be OK for them. We need to break their stranglehold on our culture and our government. That can’t be done gently. It has to be done ruthlessly and harshly. After they literally tried to throw Trump in jail for the rest of his life and murder him, let’s hope our rebooted president understands that.

This is not the time to be nice. This is the time to rub their faces in their defeat. Somebody’s got to win this fight. I propose it be us. When we beat the Japanese and the Germans, we did not forgive and forget. We broke them. We exacted righteous retribution. Only then did we allow them to return in a form that would no longer threaten us. Now, sadly, the Germans can’t threaten anybody, and for too long, we had to pay for their defense, but that’s going to change under Trump 2.0. As for the Democrats, they lost and now they get to experience what losing means.

They are entering the “Finding Out” phase.

There are those without spines who will want to ameliorate our enemies’ pain. We will get a bunch of Romney Republicans telling us that we need to be nice and stretch our hands across the aisle and work together for a bipartisan future with the people who spent the last eight years calling us Nazis. But compromises with and concessions to communists are not what the American people voted for. They voted for us. They voted for Trump’s policies. They voted for Project 2025. Frankly, it’s an attack on Our Democracy to give our voters anything less.

There will be plenty of time to get into specifics about what Trump should do to get ready for Inauguration Day, but the most important thing to do right now is to get into the right mindset. We have power again, and we must use it effectively to do the things we were elected to do. We must ignore the regime media, which assisted in this by making itself ridiculous during this campaign. We must enjoy the cries of the Democrats, who assisted in this by making themselves ridiculous. And we must ignore the cries of the soft Republicans who are afraid to do what must be done to Make America Great Again.

To the victor goes the spoils. Time to collect our spoils. We won. We need to act like it. And if they aren’t crying, we aren’t trying.
